The new women’s collection is based on vintage styling that captures the fashion house’s core DNA. But will it capture the hearts of the ladies, too?
The recently launched Time Lady collection by Ferragamo came out just in time for the December gift-giving season. The new fashion collection is off to a good start already, and looks set to be a popular pick in 2018.
Part of that no doubt is down to the styling of the new timepiece. To sum it up, the design is fashion forward while at the same time clearly retro inspired.
Take, for instance, the well sized 36mm steel cushion case, which has been treated with yellow gold and demonstrates featuers from both stylistic periods.
But what makes the overall design of the watch work well is the traditional round shape of the dial, which offsets the case nicely both in colour and in terms of shape.
The case envelops a dual level dial that sports a matte outer ring and a guilloche centre, with 1930s inspired Arabic numerals. At its corners it features graduated diamond decoration consisting of 20 stones.
Adding some more flair to the otherwise classic looking watch is a colourful strap featuring a patchwork of yellow, red and purple that are reminiscent of the colourways popularized in the 1960s. Each watch comes with an additional spare strap in black Saffiano leather.
For those looking for a more pared down version of the Time Lady, the model is also available in a version without diamonds and a champagne dial. It is matched with a blue, fuchsia and orange strap.
Being a fashion watch, it certainly delivers on its promise on the outside. On the inside, we have a Ronda 763 quartz movement, and a sapphire crystal wraps up the nice overall package.
